Lonnie A. Washington graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English and from Samford University's Cumberland School of Law with a Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1991. He was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1992. Upon graduation, he worked as Assistant District Attorney for Jefferson County Alabama. He worked in this capacity from 1993- 1996.
Lonnie has served as Municipal Judge for the City of Brighton, Alabama since 2001. He is currently serving as a judge pro-tem in the Birmingham Municipal Court and in the cities of Midfield and Fairfield.
In 2001, Lonnie co-founded Washington, Lloyd & Henderson, PC, and has since concentrated on public interest litigation, mass tort, and social security and veteran's claims.
Lonnie is a member of the National Organization of Veterans Advocates, a 2007 Associate Member of the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives.
In 2007, Lonnie A. Washington Sr. Esq. received his Alabama life, health, property and casualty insurance licenses and his Alabama real estate license and incorporated Affiliated Brokerage Services, Inc. (ABSI). ABSI primarily and specifically focuses on providing commercial and governmental insurance and real estate services in minority and other cities in Alabama which are underserved in these professional services.
